Sweater x 2

Светр x 2

“Let’s imagine that a sweater is a self-sufficient outerwear,” — this assumption gave rise to the material you are reading right now. It would seem that what can surprise us about a sweater — a wardrobe item as basic and familiar as jeans or a white shirt. However, this season we suggest you wear it in a radically different way: instead of wearing a jacket, a jacket or a trench coat on top of a sweater, put on... another sweater over it. Do we suggest you get two identical sweaters? Yes. Does it sound strange and wasteful? Only at first glance — and here’s why.

First, it's beautiful.

This argument might not be convincing, but look at fashion bloggers around the world who have quickly picked up the idea of “double” sweaters, collecting tens of thousands of likes and enthusiastic comments from their audience. Moreover, the sweaters do not have to be identical - choose different sweaters of the same shade or different colors of the same texture, and this will also work. Put on a sweater, and then throw another one over your shoulders. You can tie it across your chest or diagonally over your shoulder, you can throw a second sweater over it without tying it, like a poncho. Or you can even tie the second one around your hips or waist. Just do what you usually do with a scarf.

Secondly, it is definitely warm.

Sweaters made of dense fabrics are no less than demi-season “insulators”. And if, like us, you usually choose cashmere sweaters, a “double” sweater will keep you warm until deep autumn. Moreover, cashmere has one important quality that will allow you to wear it for many years: it should “rest”. Wear it for two days – rest for two days. Rest in this context means leaving the thing hanging on a hanger without doing anything. We suggest letting your cashmere rest simply on your shoulders – believe me, there it will be much more useful than on a hanger or on a shelf in a closet.

Thirdly, by wearing two sweaters at once, you will be at least original.

The famous maxim “stand out or die” sounds surprisingly radical, but let’s be honest, that’s why we love clothes. And the “double” move described above has not yet left the narrow fashion circle and entered mass fashion – use it while it’s still hot. By the way, if the idea of “double” sweaters captivated you as much as we did, but you’re not ready to completely replace your outerwear with a sweater, wear a sweater in delicate shades, just like a cape or scarf, over a jacket, trench coat or coat, and… voila!

PS And don't forget that your second sweater can warm someone next to you in a time of need.
